Lake Piano is a small lake situated in Menaggio valley. It has a surface area of 0.72 km2 and a maximum depth of 13 metres, and freezes over in winter. Lake Piano is part of a vast natural oasis called the Piano Lake Nature Reserve, which is recognized as a Site of Community Importance by the European Union. I fish here several times a year mainly for pike, which can reach truly remarkable sizes. The lake is also home to fabulous perch. Target fish: pike, perch, black bass and zander.
